After proceeding to checkout, you will be prompted to enter your shipping information. Underneath this section is a form, allowing you to simply tick the vat-exempt declaration box and specify the primary long-term illness or disability that either yourself, or the person you are buying for suffers from. VAT will then automatically be removed from your order as you proceed. Charities are also exempt from paying VAT, and can do so by simply ticking the relevant box.
The answer is yes, so long as either yourself, or the person you are purchasing the goods for are chronically sick or have a disabling condition, and the goods are for personal/domestic use only. Charities are also exempt from paying VAT, and can do so by simply ticking the relevant box, and entering their charity number. This number will be quickly verified by us before dispatch of your order.
If the person the goods are intended for does not have any specific long-term medical conditions, by law they must purchase (and proceed through checkout) without applying for VAT exemption. If you have a short-term injury, or simply use the term 'old age', this would not make you eligible. Any organization that does not have a registered charity number (such as businesses) are also not exempt from paying VAT.
The next working day when ordered before 1pm. Orders made on weekends will be delivered on Tuesday.
Our 2-man team will place the box in your room of choice.
Yes, at checkout you can select engineer home delivery which adds £95 to the order and about 10 working days to the delivery time. Because the Powerchair does not require assembly, we recommend only paying for this service if you are not capable of taking a kerbside delivery and unpacking the Power Chair yourself.
A time and date for the appointment will be arranged via telephone call with yourselves approximately 3-5 working days after ordering, so please enter a phone number at checkout you will be able to answer in the days after ordering. Please note engineer delivery is only available on the English, Scottish and Welsh mainland.
On the day of delivery, the engineer will bring the Power Chair into your property, provide a demonstration, and remove all the packaging
We deliver to the Great British mainland (England, Scotland & Wales) only. We can also deliver to any GB outlying islands for an extra courier fee, please call us to check before ordering. As an example, Isle of Wight generally costs approximately £40 extra for delivery.
Yes you can collect from our premises if you wish, just make sure you call us before ordering to arrange an appointment to come and collect. We can have your Power Chair ready to drive for you to take away with a demonstration, with or without the box as you wish.
We will offer to replace the Power Chair without quarrel, so long as you notify us within 48 hours of the Power Chair being tracked as delivered. We may also offer you a discount or to send the parts if the damage is cosmetic only, however it's your decision as to whether you accept this, or ask for a complete replacement, or collection for a full refund.
14 days starting from when the Power Chair tracks as being delivered.
Head over to our contact page and submit a message quoting your order number, return reason, and contact details, and we will respond with instructions.
Once your return is authorized, you can either:
Note that if you are returning the Power Chair because it's developed a fault within the first 14 days, the returns collection service cost is covered by ourselves. If the Power Chair develops a fault after 14 days of taking delivery, please check our excellent warranty policy on the next tab for details.
We only charge restocking fees when absolutely necessary in the following scenarios:
Any restocking fees charged are only used for, and proportionate to, the cost of restoring a product to a resealable condition.
Please note that in line with the consumer contracts regulations, the engineer delivery option is non-refundable as it is an upgraded/paid delivery option.

With many moving parts and exposure to scrapes, bumps, hills and the weather, it's important you have a clear understanding about how you're covered in the event of a breakdown.
Warranty is included as standard for the first year, and covers something going wrong with the product. Insurance is completely optional and similar to car insurance, provides cover for accidents, such as theft, user-caused damage, and the consequences of an accident such as injury.
Free 1 Year parts & labour cover for mechanical or electrical faults.
The 'Standard' insurance option covers loss, damage, legal liability for injuring others, breakdown recovery, loss of keys, personal injury and loss of belongings, hire costs while waiting for repair, plus cover for mugging.
If you choose to opt-in when ordering, we can offer 1 month of plus insurance free of charge. Many customers choose this option as it gives peace of mind while you spend the first month getting used to your Airwheel, in the knowledge there is no automatic renewal and therefore no unexpected direct debit when the month ends, instead the insurer, Mark Bates Ltd, will be in touch to check if you want to renew. You can view full details on the free insurance in the IPID here.
'Plus' insurance adds cover for punctures, legal cover if someone else hits you, automatic cover for any manual wheelchairs you own, pet and dental cover, and any driver using your Power Chair being automatically covered. You can view the full breakdown of the things covered by insurance in the IPID here.
Yes, up to a maximum of 5 years total, and you can also renew the warranty next year when the first year expires, in case you didn't want to add the extra cost up-front.
Powerchairs are complex machines and on average cost us £150 under our warranty scheme for each repair when you combine our collection costs (around £70 per item), another £45 on delivery when we send it back to you repaired, and around 90 mins of labour costs.
Charging this deposit only when the fault isn't obvious ensures we at least cover the collection portion of our repair costs (less than half) when no genuine fault (user error) is found. We make no profit on this and the whole deposit pays our courier for the collection job. We still cover the labour time and return carriage costs ourselves (unless user damage is discovered).
Yes, however for the same reason we describe in the repair collection deposit explanation above, the costs vary depending on whether you can bring the Power Chair to our workshop, or need it collecting and dropping off again
The Halo is a pinnacle of balance, engineering and quality for those that need the lightest power wheelchair possible for lifting in and out of the car and taking on holiday.
Many brands on the market today are rushing to achieve the lightest and we understand the choice can be overwhelming. The Halo aims to sail above the competition by avoiding all three big compromises that plague the alternatives competing in this space at an extremely sensible price.
Using premium carbon fibre gives the Halo exceptional strength and durability when compared with aluminium alternatives of a similar weight, which while cheaper, come with the compromise of significantly thinner frames and less bracing to achieve that low weight.
Aluminium also does not have any flex like carbon fibre, resulting overall in a product that will feel much more flimsy and is unlikely to last an acceptable amount of time.
The frame design of the Halo is based on the tried and tested double cross-brace wheelchair, giving it an impressive weight limit of 136kg or 21 stone. (Although we advise no heavier than 18 stone on any carbon fibre wheelchair due to the weight ratio between the driver and machine for outdoor stability).
The larger wheels, frame sizing, seating angle and wheel spacing have all been designed to provide a much more stable driving experience when out and about compared to other ultra-lightweights.
The Halo feels as good as it looks. Featuring a thick, contoured memory foam seat cushion and ultra-smooth motors, it's easy to control and perfectly comfortable on days out.
Large pneumatic rear tyres reduce the impact of bumps while improving grip (puncture proofing available), and optional front castor suspension can provide additional relief on uneven surfaces (adds approx. 150g weight to chair).
Only 97cm long x 31cm wide x 75cm tall when folded, making it perfect for car boots when combined with the incredible 12.9kg lifting weight!
Large 12" Pneumatic tyres mean the chair can handle more terrain than most ultra-lightweights, with added comfort.
Our thick memory foam cushion is contoured to hold you in the chair and conform to your body while providing much better comfort on longer days out.
The Halo's modern LCD screen and buttons are easy to read and use, whilst the joystick and on-board program have been configured for maximum smoothness and ease-of-use indoors and outdoors.
The Halo has a second battery slot underneath the seat, meaning you can carry the optional spare battery on-board, without having to swap them over when on exceptionally long days out.
Press the button on either side and lift the arm-rests up to facilitate side transfers, and get closer to tables.
Max out your comfort by adding spring suspension to the front castors (adds around 150 grams to the lifting weight of the chair).
Joystick-Mounted bright LED lights allow you to see your way in the dark, and the USB output allows you to charge your phone on-the-go.
Adds safety while driving and is included as standard.
Ensure safety when ascending slopes. These are also removable in case you need to reduce the chair's size even further when storing in tight spaces.
Allow you to easily get on and off the chair, which are also removable if needed.
Allows you to store essentials while on the go. The Halo is compatible with a range of generic aftermarket wheelchair storage backpacks and side bags.
